IMT Uptown Post Oak apartment community exterior in Houston Uptown district

Short answer: IMT Uptown Post Oak, at 1111 Post Oak Blvd in Houston’s Uptown district, now operates as Aston Post Oak and is managed by ZRS Management. It’s a 392-unit, five-story community that listing databases date to 2008, with studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. Listings we reviewed in late September 2026 showed rents from roughly $1,200 to $2,400 a month, depending on floor plan. Rents change often, so confirm the number with the leasing office.

The old IMT name still appears on many listing sites, and some of the information attached to it is out of date. This guide separates what’s confirmed from what you should verify before you tour or apply.

IMT Uptown Post Oak Is Now Aston Post Oak

IMT Capital and its affiliate IMT Residential announced the purchase of the community, then called IMT Uptown Post Oak, on July 20, 2015. Today the property’s own website, the major rental portals and the Houston Association of Realtors listing all use the name Aston Post Oak, and the HAR listing names ZRS Management as the manager. Yelp lists the IMT Uptown Post Oak page as closed, and at least one rental site still labels the property “formerly known as IMT Uptown Post Oak.”

We couldn’t find a public announcement that states when the rename or management change took place, so treat that date as unconfirmed. What matters for a renter is practical: search under both names when you read reviews, and start your application from the official Aston Post Oak site. An old IMT applicant login page still shows up in search results, so confirm the correct portal with the leasing office before you enter personal information.

Floor Plans, Sizes and Rent

Rental portals list 20 or more floor plans, from studios of about 638 square feet up to two-bedrooms of roughly 1,550 square feet. The official site also mentions one-bedroom apartments with a den. Here’s what listings showed when this page was updated:

TypeSizes seen in listingsRents seen in listings
StudioAbout 638 sq ftRoughly $1,388 to $1,592
One-bedroomAbout 674 to 864 sq ftRoughly $1,433 to $1,951
Two-bedroomAbout 1,182 to 1,556 sq ftRoughly $1,997 to $2,410 on portals; the official site advertises a starting total of $1,784.95 a month for a 12-month lease

These are asking rents from third-party listings, not quotes. Three things make the numbers hard to compare. First, price depends on the unit, floor and move-in date. Second, the official site quotes a “total monthly leasing price” that includes more than base rent (its example lists $1,737 base rent inside that $1,784.95 total), while portals often show base rent only. Third, sources disagree on lease terms: one lists 3 to 12 months and another lists 6 to 15. Ask for the total monthly cost for the exact unit and lease length you want, in writing.

Amenities and Apartment Features

Community amenities

The 2015 IMT announcement described a resort-style pool with a waterfall and an attached tanning and wading area, a separate lap pool with its own waterfall, and outdoor fireplace plazas with lounge seating. The property’s current site describes resort-style pool areas, a modern fitness center, coworking spaces, resident lounges, private garages and on-site storage options. Rental listings add that units have a private balcony or patio.

Amenity lists change after renovations, and the 2015 wording is a decade old. If the two pools matter to you, ask which ones are open now, and whether any amenity is scheduled for closure during your lease.

Inside the apartments

The 2015 announcement listed stained concrete floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, extra-high ceilings and oversized Roman bathtubs, and it noted that features vary by apartment. A newer listing mentions walk-in closets. Finishes may have changed since new management took over, so ask for a written list of what’s included in the specific unit you’d rent, and check it against the apartment you tour.

Location and Getting Around Uptown

Uptown, often called the Galleria area, is one of Houston’s busiest shopping, office and dining districts. The 2015 announcement described the property as close to Gerald D. Hines Waterfall Park and more than 100 restaurants, and one listing site rates the address as very walkable with some transit. “Close” isn’t the same as a short walk, though. Uptown is large, so map the walk from the front door to the places you’d actually use before you assume you can skip the car.

The METRORapid Silver Line

The address sits on Post Oak Boulevard, the corridor served by the METRORapid Silver Line, which opened on August 23, 2020, as Houston’s first bus rapid transit route. It runs about five miles with 10 stations, from the Northwest Transit Center near I-10 and Loop 610 to the Westpark/Lower Uptown Transit Center, using mostly dedicated lanes. At launch, Greater Houston Partnership coverage reported buses every 10 minutes, but a transit atlas lists 20-minute frequency, so check METRO’s current schedule.

Be realistic about what it does. The Houston Chronicle reported in 2022 that Silver Line ridership came in far below what METRO had predicted. The line can help if your job or errands are along the corridor. It won’t replace a car for most trips across Houston, and you should look at the nearest station to the building rather than assume it’s steps away.

Traffic is the other factor. Coverage of the Silver Line’s launch described Uptown as increasingly congested, and Post Oak Boulevard and the streets around the Galleria fill up at rush hour. If you commute outside Uptown, test the drive at the time you’d actually leave.

Pets, Fees and Policies to Verify

Sources conflict on pets. The official site says Aston Post Oak is pet-friendly, HAR lists cats and dogs, and Apartments.com and Trulia show “no pets.” Don’t rely on any portal. Ask the leasing office for the current pet policy in writing, including breed or weight limits, deposits and monthly pet rent. One listing site shows a $65 application fee, but fees change, so confirm it along with deposits and any administrative or amenity fees.

Who This Community Fits, and Who Should Look Elsewhere

It fits renters who want to live in Uptown for the dining, shopping and office jobs nearby, and who value a large amenity package, garage parking options and a private balcony. It suits people who work along Post Oak Boulevard and could use the Silver Line for part of their week.

It’s a weaker fit if you need the lowest rent in Houston, since Uptown prices sit above many other parts of the city. It’s also not the right choice if you need three bedrooms. The 2015 announcement mentioned three-bedroom plans, but current listings and the official site show studios through two-bedrooms only.

A Tour Checklist

  1. Ask for the total monthly cost, not just base rent, for the exact unit and lease length.
  2. Request the pet policy, fee schedule and application steps in writing.
  3. Confirm which pools, fitness areas and lounges are open, and whether any are closing for renovation.
  4. Ask what finishes and appliances are in the specific unit, and compare them with what you see.
  5. Ask about garage parking, storage options and access controls, and read recent resident reviews on more than one site.
  6. Walk or ride from the building to the nearest Silver Line station and to the places you’d visit weekly.
